Official: Jens Lehmann join Arsenal

Arsenal officially recruited the veteran goalie, Jens Lehmann with short-term cotract up to the end of the season 2010-2011.

The goalkeeper who had just retired since 2010 will directly be joining Arsenal on this weekend, facing West Bromwich.

Arsenal is in need of a goalkeeper as a backup for Manuel Almunia because the other two senior goalkeepers, Fabianski and Szcesny will not be playing until the end of the season.

“Lehmann have been training with us and he will sign a contract for a duration up to the end of the season,” said by Arsene Wenger as in written in the Sky Sports.

“We do not have a backup goalkeeper in English Premier League, so I bring Lehmann back to Arsenal.”

Lehmann retired after playing for 2 years in Vfb Stuttgart. The ex-goalie of Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan left Arsenal in 2008 after his contract finished and he was not as fit as Manuel Almunia that moment.
